A bit of history from Mollie Southall
I started breeding Snowshoe cats in 1997 and imported the first Snowshoe, my stud male Ferry vom Friedewald into the UK in 2002. Prior to that I had used home bred males sired by cats from the Linkret Snowshoe cattery. Encouraged to show my cats by their breeder, Maureen Trompetto, to gain exposure for this new and rare breed, I did so and immediately fell in love with showing. Ferry was the first Snowshoe to become breed Champion in the UK. I show my cats with both the GCCF [Governing Council of the Cat Fancy] and before that Felis Brittanica and then TICA [The International Cat Association] At our AGM on 6th April 2013 I was appointed President of the Snowshoe Cat Society, a position I was proud and delighted to accept.
